Many people only dream of winning the lottery and making it in the entertainment business. Though, only a select few of us have the luxury of living out our dream lives. Rap stars for instance, have millions of dollars thrown at them all the time.
Recently, 50 Cent revealed that he and Eminem were once offered millions of dollars to give a live performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Oddly enough, though, the 8 Mile star turned down the $8-million-dollar offer.
They Were Offered Millions Of Dollars For A World Cup Performance
Most people wouldn’t be able to walk away from an $8 million-dollar deal. In fact, they’d feel as though they won the lottery. Though, Mr. Slim-Shady didn’t jump at the chance to give a live performance, even for that kind of money.
Furthermore, Eminem’s longtime friend and former collaborator 50 Cent spilled all the details surrounding the rap star’s decision to turn down an $8 million-dollar performance. During a recent interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the G-Unit mogul explained that they were offered a total of $9 million-dollar to perform at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Talk about taking home a huge paycheck.
Eminem Wasn’t On Board
However, Eminem wasn’t on board. 50 cent recalled calling up Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg to discuss the details of the offer but they immediately turned it down. “I spoke to Paul and everyone around him. They said he won’t do it,” the Power executive producer explained.
Clearly, Eminem must’ve had other projects to attend to at the time. Arguably, though, it’s a bit odd that the total $9 million wasn’t distributed evenly between the two rappers. Perhaps it wasn’t that good of a deal to begin with.
