The 2021 NBA playoffs are among us and Philly is in it. This afternoon, Philadelphia 76ers take on the Washington Wizards in NBA playoffs. Joel Embiid and Russell Westbrook revive their rivalry for what will be a competitive, high octane game.
2021 NBA Playoffs: Odds are in their favor
Philadelphia’s defense is very strong giving them the edge over the Wizards. Wizards guards will have to come up with a new strategy because they aren’t going to bully this Philly team. Now, Joel Embiid is in great shape and has been working hard this year to improve his game. Embiid has become a stong defensive and offensive beast that should have no problem against the Washington’s guards. Fans are in agreement that this year could be Embiids year to take home MVP. The game should be a win for Philadelphia.

What do they need to do?
76ers need to limit transition opportunities which may mean slowing down and controlling the pace of the game. Embiid should get the ball often as he is strong defensively but also offensively, efficiency shoting 60% against Wizards. Embiid has averaged 30.0 PPG and 9.7 RPG. Ben Simmons needs to shoot agressively which is something he has struggled to do for some time now. Despite his shooting issues, Simmons has been a strong perimeter defender. Offense will be more of a struggle than defense and they should plan accordingly.
