Several female emcees have stepped up in the last year to bring fans good music. Cardi B’s “WAP” and Doja Cat’s “Like That” are just some examples of great music created by powerful female rappers. Many of these female emcees have received accolades for their work. Though, it’s not enough to shower them with awards. They deserve to have work their artistry on full display. Last year, T.I’s Trap Music Museum honored the leading women of HipHop, namely Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. They’ve certainly earned the title of Rap Queens!
The Unveiling Of The New Female Exhibit
Women pretty much run the world. Recently, women have received the recognition they deserve. Particularly, the world of rap music has evolved with presence of female artists coming onto the scene.
Rapper T.I reflected the changing times in HipHop music. Back in January 25, 2020, the long-time emcee included a female exhibit to his Trap Music Museum. Though, the big unveil came with an even bigger announcement. At a speaking engagement, T.I announced that the exhibit would feature Rap Queens Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. During the unveiling, T.I states, “Ever since we opened the doors, one thing I’ve seen continuously and heard is why ain’t no girls in here . . . yall ain’t celebrate the women in trap music?’ We definitely saw that there are two mother****** that should be acknowledged in the museum.” Afterwards, curators unveiled the Rap Queens very own exhibits, featuring artistic portraits of Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. The museum officially has become a must-see.
The Rap Queens Receive Their Own Exhibition
Rap Queens, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have fundamentally changed the culture of HipHop forever. General Manager of the Trap Music Museum, Krystal Garner, especially advocated for the inclusion of an all-female exhibit featuring the two Rap Queens. “I’ve always had a love for women who were able to spit bars over a dope beat. The first time I heard Nicki Minaj’s ‘Itty Bitty Piggy’ and Cardi B’s ‘On Fleek’ they were automatically placed on my ‘Best of the Best’ list,” Garner told 11Alive during a press release statement. We can’t wait to see what other trailblazing female rappers make it into the Trap Music Museum.
