Bobby Shmurda Wants Out The Rap Game

Being a rap star seems like the ultimate dream for most aspiring creatives. However, these days, rap stars themselves are looking to retire early. Given the nature of the music industry and the endless gun violence, the rap community has become an unsafe place for many rappers. Unfortunately, the HipHop community isn’t what it used to be. Recently, Bobby Shmurda said that he wants out of the rap game.

Bobby Shmurda Says Record Labels Treat Artists “Nasty”

Working in entertainment requires resilience. However, as of lately, working around the clock as a famous emcee isn’t worth the hype. Recently, Bobby Shmurda made it known that he’s looking to give up the mic, given the current state of the rap game. According to him, the rap game has one too many problems that need fixing and fast.

Specifically, the Brooklyn rapper took to an Instagram Live where he discussed how record labels mistreat and undervalue their artists. It’s actually one of the reasons why Shmurda left his own record label and became an independent artist in the first place. Honestly, all artists need to have the freedom to express themselves. Afterall, there’s a reason why it’s called “creative expression.”

The Rap Game Is Full Of Nerds

Additionally, Bobby Shmurda noted that this generation of rap music is full of nothing but nerds. Furthermore, the star claims many of today’s biggest rap stars don’t have any real talent or skills on the mic. He even went as far to claim that Jay-Z’s Roc Nation hired “hackers” just to push them into the top spot on the Billboard charts. Apparently, Shmurda thinks the rap game and music industry in general is rigged. If being a rapper requires him to “play pretend,” he rather leave the rap game altogether.
