Michael R. Jackson’s A Strange Loop Broadway is already the toast of the 2021-2022 season. The 2020 Pulitzer Prize winning musical has earned eleven Tony nominations, more than any other show this year. The Tony Nominated Team
The Stephen Brackett-led production features a cast of all-star theater makers. Many of these, now Tony-nominated actors, happen to be making their Broadway debuts. Jaquel Spivey stars as Usher, in a debut rumored to make Spivey a household name.
Additionally, the cast also stars an incredible ensemble made up of Antwayn Hopper, L Morgan Lee, John-Michael Lyles, James Jackson, JR., John-Andrew Morrison, and Jason Veasey. The production is choreographed by Raja Feather Kelly, known for his extensive Off-Broadway work at Signature Theatre, Soho Rep, and New York Theatre Workshop and Playwrights Horizons.
Big Broadway Names
According to Playbill, A Strange Loop Broadway has garnered an A-List producing team led by Barbara Whitman. Billy Porter, Alan Cumming, Jennifer Hudson, Mindy Kaling, and RuPaul Charles are just a handful of the superstar names hidden in the fine print above the marquis.
