Wendy Williams is raising valid concerns about Cardi B and her court appearances.
The talk show host of “The Wendy Williams Show” got on TV to talk about the outfit choices that Cardi has been wearing to see the judge. And at first glance, she may be right. Overall, Cardi B court appearance seems as though she’s taking it for a joke.
Cardi B is treating her court appearances like she’s sitting front row at a Dior fashion show. But she isn’t. Recently, she’s been in and out of the courtroom for an assault case that happened in 2018, says Page Six. The Bronx artist is accused of getting two female strippers attacked in a club.
When addressing Cardi’s outfits, Wendy gave her honest opinions:
“I appreciate Cardi, and I hope this comes across correctly, but it applies to anyone appearing in court: A level of respectful humility is necessary given the circumstances.”
“She’s a successful woman with beautiful assets, yet there’s a proper time and setting to showcase them. However, wearing such attire to court might not be the best choice.”
She continues:
“The Birkin bag, you don’t carry that to court!” she exclaimed. “You don’t carry a multi-thousand-dollar bag … you carry something understated.”
“It’s like wearing a fur coat to the welfare office, and a splash of diamonds,” Williams added. “There’s some things you just kinda don’t do.”
Wendy is not alone in her thoughts. Perhaps the first person to say something was the victim’s lawyer, Joe Tacopino. According to Joe, Cardi’s clothes are an indication that she considers the situation a joke.
“Cardi treats courthouse visits like fashion shows. She’s facing felony charges from a grand jury, yet seems more focused on her outfits. There will come a time when she needs to truly prioritize this situation, as her current approach doesn’t reflect seriousness.”
To which Cardi replied:
“I don’t dress inappropriate when I go to court. I dress like a young f—king lady. Where am I supposed to get my suits from, bro?! H&M?! Why are you worried about the way I dress?”
