Rapper Officiates Same-Sex Marriage with star of ‘That’s So Raven”
In her latest episode of “Cardi Tries Tying The Knot,” rap superstar Cardi B can now check off that she knows how to officiate a wedding. In fact, she recently made a same-sex couple’s dreams come true. The episode aired on National Coming Out Day, Monday, Oct. 11, and was a memorable moment for the rapper. The wedding disguised as an engagement party turned into a delightful evening with family, friends, and a special guest.
“It’s not only a special day for you guys,” Cardi B said. “It’s a meaningful day for me. I appreciate all of you for including me in your wonderful journey.”
The Grammy Award-winning artist is accompanied by none other than Raven Symone as the ring-bearer. As Brandi Taylor and Shannon Herbert exchanged their vows, Symone joined the ceremony and delivered the rings.
Symone and Cardi B helped make this “pop up” wedding into something romantic and special for these two women.
‘You May Kiss the Bride’
“Then, by the power vested in me by the state of California and my online course, I pronounce you wife and wife,” said the rapper. Shortly after the ceremony, Symone goes to explain ‘who can say Cardi B officiated one’s wedding.’
“That was epic, who gets to say Cardi B officiated their wedding, Brandi and Shannon do,” Symone said. “…and Raven,” the rapper added.
At the end of the episode, the “WAP” artist expressed that she wants a big wedding and is thinking about having ‘the sit down with her husband,’ rapper Offset. “I want my freaking wedding. You hear that Kiari Cephus,” she said. “I want that feeling.”
Who knows, a wedding for Cardi B may be coming sooner than we think.
