Cardi B’s WAP Music Video Wishlist Also Included Lizzo

Music from this year has been all about remixes, huge collaborations and even bigger cameos. Cardi B’s “WAP” music video certainly has everyone talking. People still can’t get enough of Cardi B’s and Megan Thee Stallions raunchy lyrics and dance slips from the music video. There’s plenty to praise about Cardi B’s “WAP” music video, but if there’s one thing the rapper herself could change, she’d make sure to get fellow rapper Lizzo a spot on set as well.

There’s a lot of pressure with being one of the biggest female rappers in the industry. Not to mention, coming up with the next big hit is just as stressful. Cardi B, luckily, has succeeded at remaining at the top and even releasing a mega hit. Her “WAP” video became a viral hit. Fans love everything from the clothes, the dance moves, and the sexy lyrics. The cameos, however, are what really stole the show. Cardi B can’t even stop talking about them, including the one cameo that got away.

In a Hot 97 interview in September, the star mentioned her plan to have Lizzo as a guest in her “WAP” music video. They were cool with each other, exchanging DMs, and Cardi had a vision for Lizzo’s role in the video. However, the two powerful rap Goddesses never linked up, due to scheduling issues. Cardi B further explained that Lizzo “was vacationing” at the time of the video shoot. Hopefully, next time Cardi B will get her dream collab with Lizzo.

                “WAP” Was An All-Inclusive Project

We all love seeing women come together as one unified unit and making great music. The media has pitted women against each other, especially when it comes to huge female rap stars. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion were the latest victims of Cancel Culture this year and faced tons of scrutiny from internet trolls. Just like the bad asses they are, the female artists rose above the drama and decided to unify all female hip-hop artists under one unapologetically female, sexually empowering roof that is “WAP”. Cardi B further explained the message behind her music video, stating, “I wanted to include diverse women of different races and backgrounds who are powerful and influential.” The video received a nod of approval from other hip-hop artists like Nicki Minaj. That just goes to show, that women in the rap industry are connected more than ever.

Let’s hear your thoughts. Would you like to see a Cardi B and Lizzo collab in the near future?
