Coi Leray has been under fire since the release of her XXL Freshman Cypher alongside DDG, Lakeyah, and Morray. The “No More Parties” rapper delivered a lackluster freestyle and even proceeded to twerk as an alternative. Social media didn’t take kindly to her showing, which prompted multiple responses from Leray. “Bro coileray couldn’t rhyme anymore in her freestyle n started twerking,” a now-viral tweet read. “Nah coi leray imma need you to hire a freestyle coach and a ghost writer,” another tweet read.

In response to the backlash, Leray posted a video on TikTok of her rhyming while nonchalantly throwing money in her house.

The “BIG PURR” rapper then dismissed the criticism of her rap skills on Twitter. “How the hell you gon tell me how to rap? Ain’t no f**king rule book n***a I do and say wtf I want you either like it or not b**ch I’m here,” she wrote.

Leray didn’t stop there. She confidently claimed on her Instagram story that her XXL Freshman Freestyle was the best in her class. She expressed her belief that she and Lakeyah had the strongest freestyle performances. Leray also mentioned the cyphers, stating that she believed her class had the best cypher, although she hadn’t heard the others yet. She particularly highlighted her own performance.
