Diana Ross is an iconic legend known to everyone. From her time with the Supremes to her solo career, she has given us unforgettable hits like “I’m Coming Out,” “Endless Love,” and “Stop! In The Name of Love.” With her latest album, Thank You, Ross continues to shine bright. After a successful European tour, she made a triumphant return to The Hollywood Bowl for a two-night special filled with joy and positive vibes.
The Hollywood Bowl had this to say about her return:
“Diana Ross is back at the Hollywood Bowl for a two-night tour, showcasing her hit songs like “I’m Coming Out,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” and “Stop in the Name of Love.” Joining her on both nights is Joshua Henry, a Grammy- and Tony-nominated singer and Broadway star.”
Up And Coming Star
I had the pleasure of attending Diana Ross’ Friday night show on August 26th. An enjoyable surprise of the night was the opening act, Joshua Henry. Joshua kicked off the show with great enthusiasm and a beautiful voice!
Joshua expressed his gratitude, saying, “I’m so thankful to be here opening for such a legendary artist!” Not only did he do justice to Diana Ross, but he delivered an outstanding performance!
One of my favorite tracks from Joshua was “Guarantee.” The song perfectly captures his energy and spirit with its fun and uplifting melodies, reminiscent of a Broadway musical. According to the Hollywood Bowl, Joshua is a Grammy-nominated recording artist who has made a name for himself through his Broadway performances in Carousel, The Scottsboro Boys, and Violet. You can stream his debut album, Grow, on all platforms.
Diana Ross Still Got It!
Before the show, people around me were wondering if the singer could keep up her energy. At 78 years old, Ross proved them wrong by showing up with full vitality! She kicked off the show with her hit “I’m Coming Out” in a sparkling orange outfit. Known for her iconic style, Ross changed her outfit five times throughout the show, featuring vibrant colors like red, yellow, white, and black.
Diana Ross’s son, Evan Ross, was in attendance to support his mother. Coincidentally, it was Evan’s birthday, and Diana gave him a special shoutout and song “Love Child” to him. Ross continued to captivate the audience until around 10:38 PM.
By the end of the night, everyone was on their feet, singing along to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” as the grand finale. Diana Ross exceeded everyone’s expectations! Her world tour will continue, making stops in Minnesota, Massachusetts, and New York.
