Indianapolis Colts Jonathan Taylor Cements Spot For MVP Or OPOTY

Indianapolis Colts Jonathan Taylor understood the challenge presented before him this past Saturday night facing off one of the top defenses in the NFL. Taylor seems to have cemented his spot for talks of offensive player of the year (OPOTY) or most valuable player (MVP) of the 2021 season. It seems Taylor anticipated defensive guru Bill Belichick to stack the line and game plan around him.

Like many, Taylor was prepared for the New England Patriots to gear up for the run. The Patriots tried to force the Colts to beat them with their passing attack. This almost was successful for the Pats. However, Taylor refused to be stopped and he pretty much had his way with the Patriots defense all day.

    Patriots game plan for Taylor

While the Pats contained him for the majority of the game, they didn’t necessarily shut him down but contained him. Taylor still managed to run for 170 yards including a 67-yard dagger touchdown that sealed the win for the Colts. Ultimately, the Indianapolis Colts defeated the Patriots, 27-17.

“I believe it shows that we’re a team that gives our all for the entire game, never giving up until the end. It was a total team effort.”

The Colts’ season is changed from this huge win at home. They’ve won their last five out of six games. They also just snapped an eight-game losing streak to the Patriots with the latest win. Taylor has been phenomenal all season. According to ESPN, he has scored in 11 consecutive games, matching the franchise record set by Hall of Famer Lenny Moore.

“I almost called a pass because I thought we needed a first down. But after discussing it with Marcus Brady, our offensive coordinator, we decided to call one more pass. There’s no chance anyone can catch him.” – Coach Frank Reich.

    Patriots attempt to bounce back

The Patriots just had gotten their seven-game winning streak snapped and they have officially dropped out of the No. 1 spot in the AFC playoff picture. The Pats had a very uncharacteristic beginning of the game with endless turnovers and mistakes. Ultimately, cost them 20-0 going into the fourth quarter.

“I’ve said it multiple times, and I can say it again. We didn’t do enough to win tonight.” – Belichick

    1. The very crux of your writing whilst appearing reasonable at first, did not really settle very well with me personally after some time. Somewhere within the sentences you actually were able to make me a believer but only for a very short while. I however have got a problem with your leaps in assumptions and you would do well to help fill in those breaks. In the event that you actually can accomplish that, I will certainly end up being impressed.
