K-pop star Sulli, formerly of the band f(x), has been found dead at her home.
Sulli was found dead by her manager on Monday afternoon local time, according to CNN.
A police official said they are investigating all possibilities after Sulli was found deceased at her home in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam. Her manager became concerned when he couldn’t reach her, and she was found on the second floor of the house.
Sulli was a child actor before joining the girl group f(x) in 2009. She later focused on acting and returned to music as a solo artist, releasing a single called “Goblin” in June 2019. She also appeared on a TV show where K-pop stars discussed dealing with negative online comments.
Korean pop music is one of the country’s biggest exports in the past decade. Many of its idols train for years! Their training incluceds singing, dancing and acting skills.
They even have to learn other languages, before they are even allowed to debut their first song.Stars of the genre are subject to intense pressure, which has been linked to a mental health crisis in the industry.
This is not South Korea’s first idol suicide/ attempted suicide. K-Pop stars like Jonghyun ended his own life in Seoul in December 2017.
Also, singer Goo Hara, apologized to fans after being found unconscious at home in May 2019.

It is confirmed that Sulli took her own life by hanging herself in her two-story house in Seongnam.
