Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes Falls Out Of Offensive Slump

Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes finally falls out of his offensive slump. The practice squad quarterback, Shane Buechele, apparently is the cause for the Mahomes bounce back, per ESPN.

He came to Mahomes early in the week with a video he’d found on the Internet, the content being a kid talking with the message, “I’ve got my swagger back,” per sources. This message resonates with Patty, who had been struggling for the first time in his pro career. He resolved his play Sunday night when they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders, 41-14.

“That was something that was kind of my motto this week,” Mahomes said. “I think the whole team got that swag back. We’re going to try to keep that thing rolling.”

The Chiefs seem to return to the former sleeves Sunday night. The Chiefs’ impressive victory pushed them to a 6-4 record this season, sharing the lead in the AFC West division.

Mahomes had an outstanding performance, throwing for 406 yards and five touchdowns, including two to Tyreek Hill. The home run ball was back in full effect, as Mahomes

connected on four passes of 25 or more yards to four different receivers.
“We’ve done it before,” he stated. “We’ve achieved it in recent seasons. We were doing it earlier this season, moving the ball and making things happen.”

Mahomes Optimistic Belief of Returning Back to the Kansas City Chiefs we Remember

The Chiefs’ struggle was clear these past few weeks. In the last three games, the Chiefs scored a combined 36 points, although, they found ways to win two out of the three. The last time the Chiefs scored 40 points or more was earlier in the season, week five when they face the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I knew we were going to click back into it,” Mahomes said. “I’ve been saying that for weeks. We were going to find it.”

However, this doesn’t mean the Chiefs didn’t go through dry spells throughout the game. Many of the Chiefs’ players are adjusting their games on a weekly basis as they understand many teams have game planned for the “home run” ball.

“It’s hard, especially for me because I’m used to going 80 [yards] every play,” Hill said. “Coach [Andy] Reid has got to keep me calm on the sideline. … I’m used to going down the field, and now guys got me running 12-yard ins. That’s not something I’m used to.

    “We’re all adjusting our games.”
