Comedian and actor Kevin Hart recently shared a surprising secret. He is part of a secret chat group with famous Hollywood stars such as Dwayne Johnson, Tom Cruise, Mark Wahlberg, Harrison Ford, Jet Li, and Jackie Chan. Action movie fans might feel jealous about this.
Hart spilled the beans at the premiere of his Netflix movie, “Lift,” where he plays a master thief who plans to rob a plane in mid-air. He told PEOPLE magazine that he and his fellow action stars “just talk about action stuff” and share their adrenaline-fueled stories.
“It’s a real secret chat, I shouldn’t be talking to you about this chat. I could get in a lot of trouble from the other action guys,”
Hart joked.
He added that the group chat helps them stay in sync and learn from each other.
“We just share action stories, that’s the thing; when you’re an action guy, you have to have action stories, so our chat is all about ping-ponging action stories and ensuring everyone’s in sync, you know? That’s what it’s about,”
He said.
At 44, Hart has come a long way from his stand-up comedy roots to become an action star. He has co-starred with Dwayne Johnson in popular movies like Central Intelligence, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. He has also shown versatility in other genres, such as drama, romance, and animation.
He has not yet worked together with the other members of his private chat group. The members include Tom Cruise, who is known for his Mission: Impossible movies; Mark Wahlberg, who has acted in films like Transformers and The Departed; Harrison Ford, who is an icon for his contribution to Star Wars and Indiana Jones; Jet Li, who is a legend in martial arts, and Jackie Chan, who is famous for his comedic stunts.
Perhaps Hart will get to work with them as he continues pursuing his action movie career. He has a lot of potential. He proved this in his latest film, “Lift”. F. Gary Gray directed the film. F. Gary Gray also produced hits like The Italian Job and The Fate of the Furious.
In “Lift,” Hart plays Cyrus Whitaker, a charismatic con artist who assembles a team of experts to pull off a daring heist.
