Booking one of the biggest rap stars in the game can be a difficult task. By some miracle, Future convinced Kanye West to join him on stage during a Rolling Loud performance. Lil Tjay seemed eager to accomplish the same feat by requesting a feature from rap queen Cardi B. At first, it seemed like the “Up” rapper was dodging Lil Tjay’s collaboration request. Of course, Lil Tjay didn’t beat around the bush and outright called out Cardi B. In the end, the two ended up working things out.
Lil Tjay’s Collaboration Request
It’s not everyday that rappers have the chance to work with Cardi B. Though, Lil Tjay made it a goal of his to score a feature with the Grammy-winning rapper. Although, his request had a rough start. On December 19th, the “Calling My Phone” rapper attempted to get Cardi B‘s attention on Twitter, hoping for a chance at a collaboration.
“I ain’t gon lie @iamcardib [what’s the word] we the 2 hottest in the city rn . . . idk it feel like u ducking or sum,” Lil Tjay tweeted, calling out the female rap star.
The “Calling My Phone” rapper made a bold choice. Luckily, it paid off in the end.
Cardi B Gives Lil Tjay The Green Light
By being the two biggest rap stars to come out of the Bronx, NY, it made sense for the two to collaborate. While it seemed like Lil Tjay’s collaboration request would go unanswered, Cardi B did the unthinkable.
Within an hour of Lil Tjay’s request, Cardi B responded. “Send me some,” the “Money” rapper tweeted back.
Of course, Lil Tjay made haste and sent the rap queen a few samples. The 20-year-old couldn’t contain his excitement. Later, he tweeted Cardi B, “Say Less” with a series of fire emojis. Additionally, he used NYC’s catchphrase to show his excitement. “Lol it’s litt BINGG BONGGG!” Looks like Lil Tjay will get that feature after all.
