Mac Miller’s Circle, to be released.
On September 7th, 2018, the world lost an amazing artist, Malcolm James McCormick, famously known as Mac Miller. A month before the Pittsburgh rapper was supposed to go on his Swimming Tour he was found unresponsive in his home. By the time paramedics could get there he was already gone.
Many took his death very hard, which is understandable.
He was in our homes and our cars. He was with us as we walked from class to class and at parties. Anywhere people could play music he was there. Many people were hurt because it was going to be the last time they heard a Mac Miller song for the first time. Until now.
Miller’s team has taken his final projects and created his posthumous album
which is due to be released this month on the 17th. The album will be serving as a companion album to his latest album
Swimming
Miller’s family stated “Two different styles complementing each other, completing a circle.” They also stated that “Swimming in Circles was the concept.”
Jon Brion was producing this album with Miller before his death. He felt that it was his duty to complete this album. He said it was “based on his time and conversations with Malcolm.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a posthumous album from a popular artist. The late XXXTentacion’s team released some of his work after his death. They even went as far as to release a music video.
Fans are of course sad that they lost some of their favorite artists, but at least they get the wonderful surprise of listening to a Mac Miller track for the first time again.
