Miranda Lambert Pockets Balling at Animal Shelter

Two words. Miranda Lambert. This woman deserves a gold medal award because she’s literally sticking her neck out to save a number of dogs and cats from heading to the slaughterhouse.

Unlike those other self-centered celebs who only spend their money on iced out necklaces and foreign cars, Miranda Lambert pockets balling in a major way. She actually sharing her wealth the godly way.

Seriously, the woman is a saint. The country singer donated her money to an animal shelter in need.

Miranda Lambert made it rain at Scituate Animal Shelter in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. She donated the money by way of her very own foundation, Mutt Nation Foundation. TMZ reports that MNF is a nonprofit ran by Miranda and her mother. They opened the shelter 10 years ago as a way to encourage the adoption of animals in need.

Maryann Regan, the executive director of Scituate Animal Shelter, says she stumbled across the donation in March, but decided not to put the money to the test until this summer.

Good thing she waited too because it’s really proving to be a success. Regan says that summer is the busiest time of year for the shelter. During the summer months they take on more animals, but there’s a very low rate for the animals to find a home, due to adoption fees.

So Regan decided to use Miranda’s donation of a few thousand dollars to help waive adoption costs until July 19.

Now the shelter is seeing an increase in adopted cats and dogs walking out the door. Normally, to adopt, it would cost a person anywhere from $100 to $250.
