Motown Records Welcomes Icewear Vezzo To The Family!

Detroit underground icon Icewear Vezzo officially announces his signing to Motown Records. The critically exalted rapper just inked a deal with the label and will unleash his debut album very soon. “Shout out to Ethiopia, my A&R Dame, managers Chanel & Adrian. I came home to a blessing. It feels like I play for the Pistons. It’s the home team Motown Records,” expresses Vezzo.

The East Side rapper recently completed a year-plus bid in a federal penitentiary. As soon as he got out, he announced his return home with the focused “Drank God Freestyle.”The clip showcased his bulletproof bars and rhymes, and it quickly surpassed 1.4 million YouTube views and counting.
A native of Detroit’s east side, Icewear Vezzo is one of the most compelling and vital rappers to emerge from his city’s rising hip-hop scene. The 29-year-old started out as a member of the Green Guyz crew, then went solo in 2012 and delivered his debut mixtape The Clarity that same year. From there Vezzo continued with the Clarity series, releasing Clarity 4 in 2015 and drawing national attention for his raw but masterful style and distinctly Detroit approach to beat selection. At the same time, he built his name as a businessman by becoming the owner of several local establishments, including a restaurant and car wash. Despite making a positive impact in his community through those efforts, Vezzo ended up spending over a year in federal prison, an experience that dramatically changed his outlook on life and music.
