9 Things You Need to Know
According to Nintendo’s Official Website, here are things you should know about the new OLED Switch model.
1. 7 inch OLED Screen
First, the screen size has been expanded from 6.2 to 7 inches making use of the OLED display and crisper picture quality. Consequently, this change is beneficial to players who prefer a larger screen and were disappointed with the original screen size.
2. Wider Adjustable Kickstand
Second, the kickstand becomes wider, giving it more support of the system’s weight. It is also adjustable to aid in a variety of angles when playing in table top mode. As a result of a big criticism to the company regarding their low quality kickstand. Priorly, players needed to turn to after market prodcuts to remedy this problem, this change is a big step in the right direction. Especially, if Nintendo wants to keep profits fixed towards their company and not after market products. It’s such a small detail but has big effects in playability.
3. Built-in Lan (Ethernet) Wired Port
This addition aids in reducing lag and providing a more stable connection for players at home.
4. 64 Gig Game Storage
Storage has been expanded from 32 to 64 gigs. As a result, players may want to purchase more digital content.
5. Enhanced Audio
6. New Color Scheme: White Dock, rounded edges
This makes the console stand out from a gaming market focused on black color design. It offers just enough variety that players may want to make the change. Rounded edges give a sleeker less sharp aesthetic.
7. OLED Dock can be purchased Separately
Another benefit is that players do not need to purchase the new console if all they want are the features and color of the OLED dock. Moreover, this is cost-effective for players that want to make small upgrades without replacing their console. Additionally, players won’t have to worry about transferring content.
8. Release Date: October 8, 2021
Upgrades are coming sooner than players expected. Since, Nintendo kept this out of their E3 presentation, players did not know that these upgrated features would be available. By doing so, Nintendo builts excitement by dropping this quickly and providing a short wait for consumers.
9. Nintendo Switch OLED will cost $350
Are the changes enough to justify the increased pricepoint of 4350?
