Nigeria’s finest – Burna Boy, Tems, and Rema – set to electrify the 2023 NBA All-Star Game with an Afrobeats-themed performance in Salt Lake City.
The line-up also includes Post Malone who will perform a medley of hits before LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo draft their teams. Actor Vin Diesel who will star in the upcoming Fast X movie, will introduce the All-Stars and singer Jewel will perform the United States’ national anthem.
Post Malone
NBA All-Star weekend is always a star-studded event. This year, the league is going global by bringing some of the biggest names in the music world to Salt Lake City.
The league announced that ‘White Iverson’ and ‘Congratulations’ artist Post Malone will perform his biggest hits at the first arena-hosted All-Star draft, which is set for Saturday night (February 19). He’ll also handle player intros along with Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel.
In addition, Grammy-nominated artist Jewel and Canadian singer Jully Black will perform the national anthems ahead of Sunday’s All-Star Game. Additionally, The Bonner Family, an all-Black Utah choir, will perform the United States national anthem before the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday.
During All-Star weekend, the league will also honor LeBron James for breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record. This year’s halftime show will feature three Nigerian superstars – GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Burna Boy, 2023 Grammy Award-winner and Oscar-nominated singer Tems and rapper/singer Rema – performing an Afrobeats-themed set.
Burna Boy
The NBA has lined up Post Malone and Burna Boy for the 2023 NBA all star game. Both will perform a medley of hits before the first arena-hosted All-Star draft, which will take place before the game starts. The NBA also announced that Grammy-winning singer Jewel and platinum-selling Canadian artist Jully Black will perform their respective country’s national anthem before the game.
According to NBC Sports, the NBA has also tapped Nigerian stars Burna Boy, Tems and Rema as the main acts for their Afrobeats-themed performance during halftime of the 2023 All-Star Game. This will be the first time that three African artists are set to headline a halftime show at an NBA event.
In addition to the two Nigerian stars, Post Malone and Vin Diesel will be performing at the all-star weekend in Salt Lake City. The rapper will perform a medley of hits, while Vin Diesel will introduce the All-Stars. The NBA will also honor LeBron James for breaking the league’s all-time scoring record two weeks ago.

The NBA announced that Canadian singer-songwriter Jully Black will be performing at the 2023 NBA all star game. Born and raised in Toronto, Black is a multi-faceted artist who has collaborated with Nas, Saukrates, Choclair, Kardinal Offishall and Destiny’s Child.
Her career has been fueled by her unyielding commitment to philanthropy and social justice. She has worked in shantytowns of Bangladesh, in villages across Africa and throughout Canada to spread her message of hope and uplifting music.
She is a Juno Award and Gemini Award-winning recording artist who has released multiple singles to the Top 10 on pop, R&B and dance music charts. She has also been awarded a Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame induction and was chosen as one of CBC Music’s 25 Greatest Canadian Singers Ever.
The All-Star weekend kicks off on Friday with the Jordan Rising Stars game, which features the league’s best rookies and second-year players. Grammy-nominated singer Jewel and Utah’s Bonner Family will perform the national anthem before the game. Then on Sunday, Grammy-winning singer Post Malone and platinum-selling artists Burna Boy and Rema will take the stage.
