If you are a sneakerhead, or are looking to start your own journey in this culture, Sneaker Con Philadelphia is the show for you. This convention features thousands of rare sneakers, live DJs, skate exhibitions, merch giveaways, barbers and so much more!
Known as the World’s Greatest Sneaker Show and North America’s Largest Sneaker Event, this traveling conference has hosted over one million guests in 40 cities worldwide. Founded in 2009, the goal of this convention is to provide a safe way for sneakers to be bought and sold.
The culture of sneakers is not just a fashion statement, but it also creates unique collaborations that elevate the footwear industry. To witness the creation of these high-end, limited edition shoes like Yeezy by Kayne West or Air Jordans is an experience that every Sneakerhead strives for.
In Philadelphia, there are a handful of shoe shops and boutiques that are a cut above the rest. However, the city still falls short when compared to New York.
“New York is really ahead of the game when it comes to the sneaker scene, but Philly is slowly catching up,” says Jimmy Gorecki, manager at Afficial.
He says that while the city has a few shoe stores, including UBiq and Niketown, it’s not as diverse as New York. But he believes that the city’s burgeoning footwear market is going to change that quickly.
Sneaker Con will be visiting San Antonio this weekend, and if you’re a sneakerhead you won’t want to miss out on this exclusive experience. Tickets are $25 plus fees online and $30 flat at the door.
