T-Pain Didn’t Get His Nicki Collaboration
Artists often make promises and understandably get called out when they fail to hold up their end of the bargain. Recently, T-Pain went on record with The 85 South Show and claimed that Nicki Minaj never followed through with their plans to work together in 2007. However, Nicki had no problem issuing an apology.
“We was about to work together and she stopped responding,” T-Pain explained. “I asked Nick to keep me updated. She responded, ‘Hey, I’m also an artist and focused on my own work, so just relax, baby.’ And I felt a mix of emotions… My heart.” Maybe I was in love with Nicki Minaj.”
Regardless of his sentiments, T-Pain was certain the move wasn’t anything “malicious.”
Nicki Adresses T-Pain’s Account
After seeing T-Pain’s interview, Nicki Minaj quickly addressed the failed attempt at a collaboration in The Shade Room‘s comment section and kicked herself for not taking T-Pain up on the offer at the time. After all, T-Pain had a No. 1 Billboard album that year and was one of the hottest artists on the scene.

Nicki Minaj’s latest official studio album, Queen, was released in 2018 and debuted at No. Her most recent album peaked at number two on the charts. Additionally, she released an extended edition of her 2009 mixtape, Beam Me Up Scotty, which also reached number two in its opening week.
Hopefully, Nicki and T-Pain will create some great music, yet T-Pain needs to be sure to check his DMs more often.
