It goes without saying that Takeoff’s death came too soon. Unfortunately, the Migos rapper was at the wrong place, at the wrong time. The artist was murdered last week in Houston outside a local bowling alley. At this time, the investigation into his murder remains ongoing. Prayers and condolences have gone out to the rapper’s family.
Currently, funeral plans are underway this week. Though, rather than reflect on Takeoff’s sudden passing, the service will be a celebration of the life the rapper led. Though, the specifics of the funeral have left fans uneasy.
Celebrating The Life Of Atlanta’s Biggest Rising Star
Furthermore, funeral services will be held on Friday, which has called by family members, friends and colleagues as “The Celebration of Life.” The memorial service will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA at noon, with doors opening at 11am.
Additionally, tickets went live on Tuesday and sold out by Wednesday afternoon. The arena has reached full capacity at this time. Moreover, organizers permitted fans to reserve a maximum of two free tickets. Also, attendees must currently reside in the state of Georgia. The arena additionally stated that a “strict no phone or video policy” will be enforced. Lastly, the arena asks that attendees please not leave gifts at the venue or to Takeoff’s family.
Unfortunately, for those who weren’t able to buy tickets in a timely manner must reframe from showing up at the service. Hopefully, everyone will have a chance to express their condolences to the rapper’s family in some way.
Fans Can Pay Their Respects Through Donations
While fans aren’t permitted to leave gifts at the funeral, they can help out in a different way. Takeoff’s family has asked that fans make donations instead to The Rocket Foundation. Furthermore, the organization sponsors support programs geared toward stopping gun violence and saving lives. We can only hope that the state of Georgia and its residents will help put an end to the senseless murders that have taken over the HipHop community.

Clearly, there’s various ways fans can honor the legacy and life of Takeoff. However, fans felt uncomfortable and singled out after learning they had to reserve tickets to the memorial service. Many wondered why the State Farm Arena even required “free tickets” to the funeral service if its “open to the public.” One fan tweeted the bold question, “Why are there free tickets? Is the corpse performing?”
Though, other fans were enraged for an entirely different reason. Many believed that a private funeral service instead of a public one should’ve been held for the rapper. In any case, the fans do raise a lot of great points.
