When it comes to Lifetime, the tv network has a bad rep for showcasing unauthorized biopics. Fortunately, the network was greenlighted on all accounts for the Salt-N-Pepa biopic. The Lifetime film will primarily focus on Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton during their days as Queensborough Community College students and their early rise to HipHop stardom. Additionally, the film will also delve into the group’s huge impact on HipHop culture.
Additionally, fans will want to stay tuned for comedian Loni Love’s interview with Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton. The HipHop queens will be talking about everything from their careers to their personal lives. January 23 already sounds like it’ll be an awesome day.
The Actors To Take Up The Mantle
As we’d all expect, the Salt-N-Pepa biopic will have plenty of high expectations from fans. The biopic has already dealt with accusations of colorism due to the “light-skinned” appearance of the actresses playing the HipHop icons. Luckily, the actresses have handled the harsh criticism with nothing but grace and poise.
Back in November 2019, it was revealed that GG Townson would play the role of Salt and Laila Odom as Pepa.
