Big News: Ukraine Just Hit Russia’s Black Sea Fleet HQ!
In a startling move, Ukraine launched a missile strike right at the heart of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet headquarters. It happened in Crimea, a region claimed by Russia, and boy, did it make a lot of folks sit up and take notice. Pictures started popping up on social media, showing thick, billowing smoke engulfing Sevastopol harbor. It was like something out of a movie.
Mikhail Razvozhayev, confirmed the strike had happened but wasn’t saying much about the folks caught up in it. All he mentioned was that they’d sent emergency teams to the scene. Then came this chilling warning, urging people in Sevastopol to stay indoors and keep away from the city center. It really sounded like they were bracing for more trouble. The sight of those brave firefighters trying to tame that massive blaze was a sight to see, and you couldn’t help but feel for them.
Now, what’s interesting is that Ukraine hasn’t come out and said, “Hey, we did it!” right away. That leaves some room for guessing and talking. And this happened right after Russia fired a bunch of missiles and shot artillery at Ukrainian cities, which sadly caused at least five folks to lose their lives. This all went down while President Zelenskyy was over in the U.S., chatting with President Biden and Congress about giving Ukraine a hefty $24 billion aid package.
But wait, there’s more: down in the southern Kherson region, there was even more shelling. Sadly, one person lost their life, and there were fires in someone’s house and garage. The governor down there, Oleksandr Prokudin, said things were pretty tense all day. Over in Kharkiv, in the northeast, they got hit too. Lots of settlements – over 14 of them – took a beating. A house in Vovchansk even caught on fire. But thankfully, no one got hurt this time.
So, while there’s a lot of trouble going on, at least we can be glad no more lives were lost. All of this makes you wonder what’s going to happen next in Ukraine – it’s definitely got everyone worried.
