2 Chainz Claims Employee Stole TVs, Sofas, and More from His Business

Tauheed Epps recently posted a disturbing video on social media that included one of his employees. The woman who works at one of 2 Chainz’s companies is accused of appropriating several pieces of company merchandise like televisions, sofas, and other furniture. Despite being visibly upset that he had been betrayed, 2 Chainz announced that he would not be pressing charges against her.

This is surprising since the rapper turned entrepreneur has become well-known to succeed in business pursuits other than music. These include his luxury product lines to buying a minority stake in College Park Skyhawks, an NBA G League team. In spite of this theft, however, 2 Chainz has remained level-headed regarding the incident.

Before we discuss employee theft, let it be noted that 2 Chainz has a diverse career. As a solo celebrity with a distinctive style, 2 Chainz began as part of Southern hip hop group Playaz Circle with Earl “Dolla Boy” Conyers. The group’s popularity was enhanced with their hit single “Duffle Bag Boy” with hip hop legend Lil Wayne.

2 Chainz started a solo career with Def Jam Recordings in 2012. He gained stardom with his feature on Kanye West’s song “Mercy.” He continued to have success with hit singles such as “No Lie” with Drake and “Birthday Song” with Kanye West.

Apart from music, 2 Chainz is also a savvy businessperson who has ventured into launching some product lines like his clothing line “CEO Millionaires” and “Dabbing Sweaters.” He has also ventured into investing in sports by buying a minority stake in the College Park Skyhawks. All these business ventures have solidified 2 Chainz’s position as a prominent player in entertainment and business.

In a social media video he posted, 2 Chainz revealed that some of his employees had swiped some items from one of his businesses. Televisions and other high-end furniture were some of the items that were swiped. 2 Chainz was upset because he had left responsibility in the business in that person’s care and it was more surprising that he would steal.

Despite the extent of the theft, 2 Chainz surprised everyone by saying he would not be pressing charges against the employee. His decision to take a calculated response is reflective of who he is and perhaps wanting to handle it internally and not make it worse.

Even though details of the theft remain unclear, 2 Chainz emphasizes that such behavior by the employee would not lead to legal consequences. His refusal to have the employee charged appears to be due to his belief system, perhaps preferring to resolve issues in a more discreet and non-legal manner.

This is not the first time that 2 Chainz’s businesses have been controversial. During his career, his businesses have been at the center of a number of legal disputes and allegations.

Employee Lawsuit (2020): Mychel “Snoop” Dillard and 2 Chainz were sued by a former assistant manager for unpaid commissions of nearly $25,000. The plaintiff claimed he met sales targets but was not paid as agreed. The defendants denied the allegations and said they were not aware of such a deal.

Restaurant Management Claims (2021): 2 Chainz’s Atlanta restaurants were accused by former employees of everything ranging from hiring a registered sex offender as a general manager to employee mistreatment, bounced checks, and even unsanitary conditions such as rat infestation. One former employee even accused a general manager of firing gunshots at her as she was leaving work.

Although 2 Chainz did not address those allegations in public, business associate Snoop did at first but later deleted her social media comments. Despite such challenges, 2 Chainz remains committed to expansion of his restaurant ventures.
