2 Chainz’s Son Questions Latto About Ice Spice Feud

It was an innocent, unexpected question that furnished one of the most interesting moments in recent hip-hop commentary during a recent episode of the podcast Me & Halo, hosted by 2 Chainz and his son Halo. While interviewing with Latto, Halo did what only a child could do: ask a question nobody saw coming—”Do you have beef with Ice Spice?”

The question clearly left Latto, 2 Chainz, and the whole audience in shock. She, being candid, took it in her stride and smiled through the situation, responding thoughtfully. “I don’t got no problem with nobody,” she replied firmly, hence ruling out any real animosity between her and Ice Spice. Moreover, Latto revealed that whereas there could be a few light-hearted exchanges blown a little overboard in the music fraternity, they should not be misconstrued as serious beef.

For months now, rumors of a Latto-Ice Spice beef have swirled, rooted in fan speculation and media tattle. But Latto has relentlessly played down those rumors, characterizing any perceived rivalry as no more than friendly rivalry. She has mentioned in previous interviews that their musical paths are pretty divergent; there is really no foundation for any kind of feud.

On the other side, Ice Spice has similarly shared the same sentiments as Latto. She described that there was nothing serious about the “beef” between them; it was all blown out of proportion and did not represent reality.

This became particularly interesting in light of the occasion—this was a discussion between a father and his son with one of the famous artists. That put Halo’s question in an entirely new perspective concerning the misunderstood nature of rivalries in hip-hop, much less from the vantage point of young fans. It pointed out how these so-called “feuds” are often more about media hype than actually bad blood.
