The ‘Grand Theft Auto’ series has been in the news a lot lately, and there’s one big name foreshadowing a big collab – rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The rapper and TV producer has sparked speculation that he is involved in a Vice City-related Grand Theft Auto project after posting a cryptic tease to his Instagram.
A ‘Vice City’ Logo Foreshadows A Grand Theft Auto Collab
In January, the G-Unit rapper hinted at a “Grand Theft Auto” collaboration on Instagram by sharing a brightly-colored ‘Vice City’ logo. This has now sparked speculation that the artist is involved in the much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 project, which is currently in development.
Rockstar Games has a long-standing relationship with musicians, and in particular, rappers. They have worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including Eminem and Dre. The two have both appeared in Grand Theft Auto Online and contributed new music to the game’s soundtrack.
However, Rockstar has yet to make any official announcements on the subject – and with 50 Cent being under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for his recent music project, fans have been left wondering if this is a hint of a collaboration.
Keep shining or die trying
Speculation on what this post means is rampant among followers, with migiziins saying that the image suggests that 50 Cent will be in the upcoming GTA game as a character. Whether or not he will, his presence in the game has been a longtime dream of many fans.
In addition to his music, the rapper also stars in a popular TV show of the same name, which is also based in Vice City. While the show wrapped its final season back in 2020, it was recently renewed for a third season and a spin-off, starring 50 himself as the lead character.
He’s a huge fan of the franchise, and if he does join the game in some capacity, it will only add to the already-huge popularity of the game. Aside from being a massive fan of the series, he also happens to be a very talented musician and vocalist, and this could well be a chance for him to showcase his talents on the in-game radio station as well.
Can’t stop 50!
There’s no doubt that the in-game radio found in GTA has made a significant impact on the music industry, and the artists who have collaborated with Rockstar have proven to be excellent at creating a variety of sounds for the successful franchise. This has helped to cement Grand Theft Auto as a powerhouse in the gaming industry, and it’s no surprise that the rapper is keen to make an appearance in the title.
This post was very cryptic, but it’s still worth taking a look at to get the full picture. As you can see, it’s a very clear reference to Vice City, which was the setting of the original Grand Theft Auto, as well as GTA 2. Given that Rockstar have been working hard on getting licensing for GTA 6, it’s likely that this will be a huge collaboration between the two.
