50 Cent Roasts Meek Mill Over Disappointing Album Performance

The world of hip-hop is not just about catchy hooks and dope beats; often, it is also about beef and rivalries. The most recent ones that have just fueled the fire include none other than Curtis Jackson, more popular as 50 Cent, and Robert Rihmeek Williams, also known as Meek Mill. The issue at hand is album sales and loyalty amid controversy.

Recently, a flare-up with Meek Mill has caught the public’s attention. 50 Cent claimed that Meek’s album sales were low, stating,

“You sold 6k copies your last project, you should not be on vacation. Still chasing the dream or embracing the nightmare.”

Meek was quick to defend himself, tweeting,

“My last project sold 90k first week expensive pain …Ross did that last cd for fun to let me out my contact cause we rich and have some type of history! It’s different lol i don’t even know how Cuban was talking to you ya swag is extremely wack!”

Despite his defense, Meek has struggled to garner much support in the comments of his posts.

The feud between 50 Cent and Meek Mill isn’t just about album sales. It also touches on the issue of loyalty, particularly in the face of controversy. 50 Cent made a sarcastic remark, asking if Meek is “still chasing the dream or embracing the nightmare,” suggesting that the low sales numbers represent a “nightmare” scenario for Meek’s career aspirations.

But the jab that really stung was 50 Cent’s comment about Meek Mill’s loyalty to Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, who has been embroiled in legal troubles and allegations of sexual assault. “Standing by your man, that I respect,” 50 Cent said, seemingly mocking Meek for standing by Diddy during this controversy.

The feud between 50 Cent and Meek Mill seems to have started due to 50 Cent’s ongoing trolling and criticism of Diddy and his son King Combs over the sexual assault allegations against Diddy. Diddy has been facing these allegations, with federal raids conducted on his properties in Miami and Los Angeles as part of an investigation.

50 Cent has relentlessly trolled and criticized Diddy on social media over these allegations, fueling their long-standing feud. Diddy’s son, King Combs, released a diss track titled “Pick A Side,” in which he defended his father and took shots at 50 Cent and others who have been critical of Diddy.

50 Cent’s beef with Meek Mill dragged Rick Ross in as well after 50 Cent attempted to mock the sales of his collaborative album with Meek Mill. 50 Cent stated that the project sold 31,000 copies, and Rick Ross, having knowledge of the actual numbers, had to refute the 50’s sales jokes.

Although the conflict’s core is between 50 Cent and Meek Mill, the feud is much more multilayered. It began with the conflict over some performance’s success; today, it is already connected with album sales, allegiance, and two equally controversial legal controversies.

While the hip-hop community remains a bystander to this bloodbath, one thing is evident—rapping is not a war by music only. It is also a tale of allegiance and a willingness to withstand others’ attacks. And so two prominent artists will continue to respond to one another’s accusations. Only time will tell how their music will alter after this war.
