In an interview with ZDF, global megastar Adele recently shocked the world by announcing her decision to quit music in order to focus on her personal life. According to the Grammy-winning performer, she wants to quit music to pursue new ways of creativity once this November marks the end of the current gig.
Adele dashed hopes for a new album anytime soon.
“I don’t have any plans for new music, at all,” she said emphatically. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
That is Adele’s personal decision to leave the music scene for some time due to various factors. Being successful as a musician does mean to someday step away from fame and limelight, and that is something she wants to do. People have always admired Adele for her powerful, emotive lyrics, and this is something she intends to go on doing in meaningful ways for her fans.
While Adele has not revealed exactly why she decided to quit music, it is quite obvious that she wants new sources of inspiration and other life experiences that will give meaning to this creativity. Being an artist, she does know about taking breaks for the rejuvenation of ideas and exploring other diverse interests.
Adele has had a tremendously successful and critically acclaimed career. Her breakthrough came with the release of her debut album, “19,” which won her not one but two Grammy Awards. Released in 2011, her second album, “21,” broke into the music circles all over the world and collected various awards across the globe—some six Grammy Awards.
Her third album, “25,” released in the year 2015, also received huge critical acclaim and won five Grammy Awards for Album of the Year. In her entire career, Adele has been highly praised for her powerful and emotive voice and songwriting skills. She has also participated in several charitable organizations related to Mencap and Keep a Child Alive.
This will not be the first time she has decided to step away from the pressures of creating new music. Adele confirmed to fans during one of her residency shows this year that she wasn’t on the verge of writing a new album.
“I get nervous about wearing my voice out, you know,” she said of the residency. “It’s a lot of singing. It’s two hours. It’s all live. It’s a lot.” She added that offstage, too, “I fucking motormouth and chat me ass off as well.” But for now? “I have nothing to say yet. I haven’t even thought about it.”
Since November 2022, Adele has been reigning in Las Vegas with her residency, “Weekends With Adele,” which is supposed to close out on November 23rd with the final date. However, before the final goodbyes from Vegas, there are a few more shows planned for this August in Munich. The concerts will be done in an open-air stadium built particularly for these performances and will boast seated grandstands and standing areas with an audience of 80,000 people per night.
Adele took to her Instagram account, excited, and reposted the decision, terming it as impromptu yet fabulous. “A one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!? Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous!” she said.
Her decision has been respected by people all over the world; everybody realizes she needed some time off and now speculates on what artistic projects she would do. As Adele concludes her Vegas residency and is moving into the Munich concerts, she continues to stand for a fitting example of being passionate about creating blissful moments through performances while keeping her personal life healthy.
