The popular streamer Adin Ross has once again managed to raise a storm on his channel, this time with an impassioned tirade against singer Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas for endorsing Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Not one to mince words, Ross attacked the siblings for supporting Harris because he believes it comes with a big money deal.
It wasn’t where Ross’s comments stopped. He proceeded to refer to Finneas as Eilish’s “gay brother,” something many felt was offensive and uncalled for. For the streamer, the endorsement “pissed him off,” apparently upset that celebrities were wading into the waters of politics.
Billie Eilish and Finneas are influential artists who have publicly supported progressive causes in the past, but their endorsement of Kamala Harris aligns with such a stance. To Ross, though, his opinion had been just one more case of performative politics by celebrities: less about political conviction, more about the money attached to their brands.
Being a quite outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, the streamer made use of this situation in an effort to continue his crusade against celebrity political involvement. His rant is not outside the norms of a pattern that has been controversial in nature-a host of political comments he has made, particularly positioning himself as a vocal advocate for Trump going into the 2024 election.
