let’s take a break to admire this masterpiece
His career started at a very young age, and the musician was able to rise through the ranks because of his grit and hard work. He grew up listening to the songs of renowned musicians like King Sunny Ade, Fela, and Bob Marley, and he was able to learn from them.
He eventually got into music, and it was not long before he started recording his first song at the age of 11. This song was named “Holla At Your Boy.” In 2009, he signed a deal with Empire Mates Entertainment, and later released his debut album Superstar.
Can’t stop the young star!
After the success of his debut album, he continued to release singles like “Brown Skin Girl” and “Essence.” The latter song reached number one on the global digital song sales chart. It was featured on Beyonce’s album The Lion King: The Gift in 2019.
More Love, Less Ego has a tendency to drift into lulls, and the artist’s preference for leisure seems to have shaped the music on this record. The British-Nigerian rapper Skepta adds a bit of grit to the track “Wow,” but even he is unable to shake off the feeling that this record is too slow and laid back to feel bracing at times.
On the flip side, there are some gems on More Love, Less Ego, such as the Chris Brown-featuring hit “African Bad Gyal,” which reimagines the traditional Afrobeats rhythm for the modern age. The song is a highlight of the album, and it’s definitely worth checking out for fans of this style of music.
