Houston rapper Sauce Walka, whose real name is Albert Walker Mondane, is recovering after being shot in the leg during a violent confrontation in downtown Memphis on March 22, 2025. A fellow rapper, Sayso P, a member of Sauce Walka’s crew, was fatally shot in the incident, which appears to have been a targeted attack.
The violent episode unfolded outside a hotel in downtown Memphis when a white vehicle approached the victims. Multiple suspects opened fire, striking Sauce Walka in the leg. The shooter then stood over him but refrained from firing again, suggesting that the primary target may have been Sayso P, who was killed during the attack. Sauce Walka was rushed to Regional One Hospital, while Sayso P was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sauce Walka is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery. Bouncing back with resilience, he recently stated that he is “up, back in the streets, and still in Memphis after the shooting,” expressing his determination to remain active after the ordeal.
