Alabama has a winner in rising rap superstar T James. Coming fresh off of the release of his “Tha Hottest” material and Trapping Made It Happen EP, he is at the top of his game musically. With the backing from Alabama shot hot Lil Bam, he is garnering the attention of all the right heavy hitters in the game. He has authentic sound that can be appreciated by any real lovers of trap and Hip Hop.
I had the pleasure of interviewing T James for a quick conversation centered around his new release, music direction and plans for the future. Check it out below.
T James Interview
Tell me a little bit about where you are from?
I am from Gadsden, Alabama which is about 2 hours from Atlanta, Georgia. It is a very small city that does not offer a lot of opportunity for people of color.
Can you talk about the music scene in your hometown as you are a budding rapper?
Because it is such a small town, it is hard for people to get their music out to the masses. We have a lot of talent here but just nowhere to push it to.
How did you get started making music?
I have been creating music since I was a kid. It has always been something that interested me, but as an adult I decided to take it more seriously. We used to record on the tape recorder and just freestyle for hours. Doing music has always seemed so natural to me.
Tell me about the new single and video you are currently pushing.
The song is called “Tha Hottest” featuring Lil Bam. this song is actually my 1st single off of my new project Trapping Made It Happen available on all digital streaming platforms.
Any features we can expect on this new project?
Lil bam is featured on the song I mentioned above and he is currently one of the hottest rappers coming out of Alabama. “Tha Hottest” was produced by 93 Meechie.
What are your plans for the next few months?
To continue pushing this single and this new project. I plan to stay on the road promoting my music and putting in the footwork. Networking and meeting new Dj’s are definitely at the top of the list. I have showcase with A&E coming up April 1 and I’ll be going on the road with artist Lil Bam. It is all gas no breaks!
What is a big goal of yours for this year?
To grow my fan base and boost my streams and views naturally on all digital platforms.
