Alemeda Inks Major Deal with TDE & Warner Records

Alemeda is an Ethiopian-Sudanese alt-pop artist who made the Top Dawg Entertainment and Warner Records deal, joining a very slim roster of females at TDE, including SZA and Doechii. It was big news not just for her but TDE, too-a label literally dominant in its roster and how it develops its artists.

Alemeda’s signing comes with the release of her debut FK IT EP, through which she dysfunctionally chronicles an evolving sound-see recent tracks “Gonna Bleach My Eyebrows” and her latest single “I Already Dug Your Grave,” performed on COLORSxSTUDIOS. Nowadays blending pop, rock, and alternative, she herself calls this EP the most authentic expression, embracing themes of personal growth and emotional freedom.

Co-president of TDE Moosa Tiffith found Alemeda on social media in 2019 and brought her to Los Angeles, where she spent the last four years developing her music. That’s a long-term investment that few labels would commit to, highlighted by the diligence of TDE, and now positions Alemeda for her own lane beside forceful artists such as SZA and Doechii​.

Warner Records teams up with TDE to elevate Alemeda’s unique artistry, and its chief executive says he’s thrilled she’s going to redefine the shape of pop and rock. Together, they aim to bring her daring, boundary-bending music to a global audience.
