All-White Party Drama: Michael Rubin Admits Avoiding Kendrick Songs for Drake

In an exclusive interview with “The Breakfast Club” on Wednesday, entrepreneur and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin explained why he wouldn’t allow some songs at his highly exclusive all-white party, which went down earlier this summer. The event was highly attended by stars such as Drake, among others, and there had been a very strategic choice by Rubin to avoid some tracks, hence making the occasion one of high debate.

He confirmed that he deliberately avoided tracks like “Not Like Us” and others that touch on Kendrick Lamar’s beef with Drake. The decision was made out of respect for Drake, who was attending the party.

“I said to Drake, this is a great test for him,”

    Rubin explained in the interview.

“You can’t get to where he’s got to and not have people coming for you.”

Given the past beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, the decision was meant to retain a good and enjoyable time for all who were at the party. According to Rubin, there is a need to hold peace at social gatherings while protecting friendships or collaborations in the entertainment industry.

But Rubin reacted to a photo that had gone viral from the occasion, which put him with Drake. Online users began to speculate massively about the picture caused by the expressions and body language of individuals involved in the photo.

“It was just such a very spontaneous and honest moment,”

Rubin explained, attributing interest in the photo to Drake’s vast popularity and interest in celebrity high-profile interactions.

Known often as “the summer’s most exclusive event,” Rubin’s party persists as one of the top social calendar events, usually zeroing in on its guest lists, fashion statements, and the occasional controversy. The recent interview brings to light Rubin’s vantage point as a host tiptoeing through the complexities of celebrity dynamics.
