Puerto Rican artist Anuel AA dropped his new single and music video, “Leyenda” on November 11. The artist took inspiration from basketball legends Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
“Our global legends have influenced me, especially those like Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, Kobe Bryant, and many more. Because, like me, they have pushed themselves to higher limits”, Anuel AA confirms in a press conference.
The release of this music video comes right after the “Dictadura”. But this one recreates the story of a basketball player from the University of North Carolina. Where equally like Jordan, he got selected for the NBA Rookie Draw by the Chicago Bulls.
After the song “Dictadura’, Anuel AA recreates a Jordan scoring the last basket that made the Bull win the championship against the Utah Jazz in 1998. He later personifies a Kobe Bryant winning one of his titles with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The song “Leyenda” first came to light on April 19, 2021, thanks to an eight-second fragment that circulated on social media.
Anuel AA directed both videos, in a line of concepts done with narrations inspired by some of the most recognized basketball players. Moreover, those included surpassed obstacles and became today’s legends.
“With the storytelling video series, I want to inspire my fans to move on as I have and many of the legends who have continued to make us fans of who they are,” said the artist.
“Leyenda” and “Dictadura” are expected to be part of Anuel’s third and next album, “Las Leyendas Nunca Mueren”.
At the moment the music video “Leyenda” has amazed approximately 14.4 million views and counting.
