Last week, Ari Lennox had an unpleasant experience at a local airport in Amsterdam. At the time, the security team detained the “Pressure” singer for supposed disorderly conduct. The R&B singer called out the Amsterdam airport, noting that their staff racially profiled her. However, she couldn’t speak too much on the issue at the time. Now Ari Lennox breaks her silence on her unjust Amsterdam arrest.
Ari Lennox Says She’s Still Being Silenced
Unfortunately, the road to racial justice and change continues to rage on. Ari Lennox recently faced racial discrimination at an airport in Amsterdam. Since her arrest, the singer broke her silence and reflected over her experience.
On Dec. 4, Lennox took to Twitter to express her remorse on the situation. Disturbingly, the singer revealed that even after her arrest, she’s still being silenced.
“I regret how I reacted to the racism and discrimination I faced. I wanted to share my experience, but KLM has shown no interest in listening. It’s painful to be silenced like this. I went through a difficult time, and I’m still not okay.”
It’s daunting to know that even at the start of a new decade, racism still exist in the world. Hopefully, the Amsterdam airport officials are reprimanded at the highest degree.
She Assures Her Fans That She’s Safe
Despite her remorse and anger over the situation, Ari Lennox assured her fans that she’s safe and sound. Of course, the news comes as a relief to the singer’s fans. This past Thursday, the singer took to Twitter again to tell them not to worry.
“Hey loves I’m safe. Thank you so much for your prayers and love,” Lennox tweeted.
Luckily, the star made her way home safely.
