Is Ariana Grande’s New Hairstyle A Symbol of Her Sadness?

Many believe that in times of hardship, women often seek solace by making a bold transformation to their hairstyle. Although there is no scientific evidence to support this claim, it frequently aligns with personal experiences. And amidst these discussions, we cannot overlook the recent buzz surrounding Ariana Grande’s new hairstyle.

Just take a look at Britney Spears, back in 2007. The famed singer was battling addiction, an unknown mental illness, and in a ruthless custody battle with her ex, Kevin Federline. Things were bad for the Princess of Pop, who stole America’s heart in her debut single “Baby One More Time,” and her problems begin to take on a physical appearance. On February 16, 2007, she walked into a California hair salon, grabbed a buzzer, and shaved her entire head bald. And for a long time after that, she continued to spiral out of control.

Other women, in the spotlight, who’ve changed their hair amidst some life shattering event have been Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and Reese Witherspoon. With the exception of Lohan, not all of them continued down a publicly humiliating chain of events, but they each tried to start a new chapter, starting with their hair. Mostly as a result of a breakup spawning from their, once happy, relationship.

Just yesterday, another woman joined that list. Ariana Grande, known for her long-swinging ponytail, has cut her hair. The singer, posted her new-do to social media, causing quite the commotion.

In addition to the bunny airs, complimentary of a Snapchat filter, Grande is seen rocking a shorter haircut. Recently, the singer hasn’t had the simplest life. Here’s her timeline of events: Grande breaks up with Mac Miller, she begins to date Pete Davidson, her and Davidson get engaged, Mac Miller dies and causes her to grieve, and then her engagement to Pete Davidson abruptly ends.

If you ask, this new hairstyle seems like a sign that the “No Tears Left to Cry” singer has some unfinished healing. Good news though, her fans love it. Which probably doesn’t say much, because they’d love anything she does, because they’re loyalty dives deeper than the darkest parts of the sea.

Grande hasn’t said what inspired the new style, but, from the outside, she seems happy with her decision.

But we think we know…she’s going through emotionally trying times, and she’s trying to cut her way through it.
