STARTED was heralded in recent weeks with the release of a number of new tracks, among them “2 Sum,” “Sandbox,” and “Mission,” all available now for individual streaming and download. “Sandbox” and “Mission” are also accompanied by new companion videos, accessible now via RecoHavoc’s official YouTube channel. He also kicked off 2018 with the hit track “Flexxx,” available now for individual streaming and download. The track is also accompanied by its own companion visual.
In a recent interview, RecoHavoc further expanded on the meaning behind his debut mixtape’s title. “After I lost my mom and dad I stopped fucking with drugs. I was like, ‘It’s lit now. I’m started.’ The word ‘Started’ means a lot to me. You can’t move anything if it’s not started. You can’t play a game if you don’t press start. You can’t go forward if you don’t start. It’s started now.”
“RecoHavoc’s sound is exciting and fresh. I love to be a part of new movements, especially someone like Reco coming from my hometown!” adds DJ Drama.
Known for turning intense hardships into hard-hitting and hypnotic hip-hop, RecoHavoc has fast emerged as the next star in a long line of Philadelphia-based rap icons that includes such superstars as Meek Mill and Lil Uzi Vert. A member of Southwest Philadelphia’s YNW (Young N Wealthy) collective, the 21-year-old rapper has unleashed a string of viral tracks, including the breakout single “Lucas.” The track was joined by a companion visual that has earned over 2.3 million individual views to date.
Already regarded as a top-level live performer, RecoHavoc has spent recent months sharing stages with a wide range of hip-hop superstars, including Travis Scott, Cardi B, Meek Mill, and Rick Ross, the latter inviting the rising rapper to serve as a special guest on his blockbuster “Rather You Than Me Tour.”
Check out the project above and congrats to RecoHavoc and his team!
