Who is AUGUST 08? Born and raised in the lesser than Hollywood side of Los Angeles, AUGUST 08 has accomplished a feat that many are unable to attest to: escape the gravitational pull of the street life and successfully make a living out of his passion. He began his music career as a writer and producer for others but has now turned to focus on his own art. “Funeral” is a grand introduction to how, through music, AUGUST 08 takes control and finds solitude.
Today, the LA native returns with a brilliantly crafted music video for his debut single “Funeral.” With direction from Scott Cramer, the video tells the compelling story of the inherent trajectory within relationships; magnifying the beautiful, ugly and indifferent through a captivating story that finds the viewer in awe of the panoramic views and landscape that serves as the backdrop to the cinematic offering.
Despite only recently announcing his solo career, AUGUST 08 has already earned the praise of major outlets including Pigeons & Planes and The 405. Last month, he grabbed attention from renowned music critics when he was featured on “Arizona,” a track on 88rising collective mate Rich Brian’s newest project, Amen. Since then AUGUST 08 has made his live debut performing alongside Joji, Keith Ape, Higher Brothers and more during 88rising’s Double Happiness Tour and is currently opening for the European leg of Rich Brian’s sold-out Come To My Party Tour.
