In a special clip recently posted to 2 Chainz’s Instagram, B.G. shared a convo with 2 Chainz. He told Tity Boi that he needs 30-45 days to “get his s**t, get calibrated” before he starts planning his return to the game. The Hot Boys member also reveals that he wants to spend his time with his family and “celebrate real love.”
Then it’s back to business for the duo, who begin Act Two with the aggressive and funky “Rich as F-ck,” a hard-hitting cut from their joint album Teflon Don. Ross follows with a deep cut from his underrated Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, the soulful “Mafia Music.”
Chainz responds with an early Kanye West collab in the undeniable “Mercy,” which should keep him well positioned to win the first round. Then it’s time to revert to the roots for both rappers, who dig into their respective debut albums with portentous cuts like the Chris Brown-assisted “Playaz Circle” and the anthem of the era, Meek Mill’s national introduction “Ima Boss.”
Despite his recent slump, 2 Chainz seems to have a knack for picking the sturdiest cuts in each of his albums. That’s evident on the piano plinks of his Based on a T.R.U. Story single “I’m Different.”
It just might be enough to win this round. But don’t sleep on the final round. Both men have a classic to offer here, but one of them has a more elusive cut that could send this epic battle into overtime.
