Mystic Natives & Kalipzo present “Doppelgänger”

    0

Mystic Natives charmed us earlier this summer with his chill house track “Oh Love,” but now he gets experimental on his newest single “Doppelgänger” with LA startup artist Kalipzo.

Incorporating a driving bassline over digitized synths, intermittent jazz melodies and a “let’s turn it up” vocal riff, “Doppelgänger” is a lively-yet-gritty; it feels like the soundtrack to a metropolitan city, with its myriad of cultural influences and irresistibly grungy vibrance. The track fuses Kalipzo‘s signature bass house into Mystic Natives‘s dynamic style, making for an intriguing track that can translate to the dance floor or your home speakers.

Mystic Natives is one to always keep us guessing, so stay tuned for what this cameleon producer comes up with next.

PREMIERE: 6orn & Zaytoven Link For “Ferragamo”

    0

The Boston-meets-Atlanta duo of 6orn & Zaytoven is straight flexing on their haters on “Ferragamo,” the second banger off their hotly anticipated collaborative album, Scales.
6orn And Zaytoven Link For Ferragamo-1

Whereas the preceding single, “Fall In That B*tch,” had more of a spaced-out, late-night vibe to it, “Ferragamo” is a bouncy burner made for the final days of summer. It’s also filled with stylish and clever braggadocio, which is fitting given the track’s inspiration—famed Italian designer, Salvatore Ferragamo.

When asked about the single, he stated:

“I had a lot of fun making this record. I was in the DR at the time when I recorded this, and was in a real laid back space. I’ve been a fan of the Ferragamo brand for a minute, and was just toyin’ around with the idea and laid it down. What better a way to turn up to this iconic brand than over a Zaytoven beat?!” -6orn

The single also further demonstrates just how well 6orn (f/k/a Born) works with the Grammy-winning Zaytoven, who for the first time ever is producing an entire album for a rapper from north of ATL. Given his hit-making prowess, you know Zay wouldn’t work with just anyone, and he and 6orn absolutely gel on the singles they’ve delivered so far. It certainly bodes well for the entirety of Scales, which they will hopefully get to share with the world very soon.

“Ferragamo” is available now through all major digital outlets and streaming platforms. Be on the lookout for more music coming soon off ‘Scales,’ and be sure to keep the project’s previous single, “Fall in That B*tch” in rotation!

PIERCE Releases “Death Note” from his “FLESH” EP

    0

Just when you thought you’d heard it all, PIERCE is about to dramatically change the game with his upcoming FLESH EP, and he’s just dropped its first single “Death Note.” As one part of a 7-track series that tells a bone-chilling story of life and death circumstances, “Death Note” takes place in the center of the action. Our hero awakens from unconsciousness in the hands of captors who are out for blood and must fight for his life if he is to survive. PIERCE narrates the terrifying episode with goosebump-inducing effect through the use of meticulous, bass-driven production; the sound of a knife blade being sharpened, evil cackling, stabbing synths and blackout-inducing basslines all contribute to the track’s life-and-death feeling. “Death Note” ends on a victory note as PIERCE breaks from his captivity and subsequently takes out the leader of his assailants, leaving the listener with an insatiable curiosity as to how he came to be in this situation and what happens next. You’ll have to wait and see, as the next hint drops on September 28th.

Austin Pierce Guerra, better known as the maestro behind PIERCE, makes the type of music that both instills terror in soccer moms and bloodthirsty euphoria in bassheads – the type that sounds like it could come straight from a steel factory, yet drives thousands of bodies into a frenzy on the dancefloor. While perfecting his craft at Icon Collective production school, PIERCE learned the ropes from some of the best minds in the business. After graduating in 2015, he had his debut EP “Audi” signed to Spinnin’ Records within a year, then went on to release “Hijack” on Insomniac’s Bassrush label in 2017. “FLESH” is his most ambitious project yet, fusing the mind of a storyteller and producer together to create a dark sonic tale of survival. Keep an eye out for the next pieces to PIERCE‘s menacing puzzle coming soon.

MAISØN’s Dazzling Debut Track “Under My Clothes”

    0

Newcomer MAISØN makes his stunning debut on Armada Chill with “Under My Clothes,” delivering tropical vibes and a hint of melancholy that perfectly encapsulates the end of summer. Through its breezy, organic melodies and lush vocals by MAJRO, “Under My Clothes” conjures images of sun-drenched, hazy days and endless sultry nights with someone special, with the underlying knowledge that nothing gold can stay. The track’s title phrase is meant to be both literal and metaphorical, according to MAISØN. “The lyrics are about an addiction as everyone is addicted to something. That’s why I think a lot of people will find them meaningful,” the Swedish producer says. He hopes to unite audiences under the shadow that addiction – whether to substances or love – casts on so many people.

Music has been a part of 28-year-old MAISØN‘s life since early on, but he’s finally able to spread his wings after years of being under a contract that did not allow him to release music under his own name. After landing a release with Armin van Buuren‘s esteemed Armada label for his debut with “Under My Clothes,” the stage is set for MAISØN to flourish with his own creative reign. “It is amazing to have such a freedom to be able to release the projects that I really love and want to share with the world,” MAISØN says. “This is the reason why I fell in love with music and this is the reason why I keep going – no matter the outcome“. Though he describes his sound as summery and groovy with a mixture of emotions, MAISØN knows that music isn’t meant to fit in a cage. “It is not about the genres” he affirms. “Good music is always good music.” Promising a year full of new music and exciting collaborations, we can’t wait to follow MAISØN‘s journey and hear what he comes up with next.

Childish Gambino Looking To Collect Due Royalties

    1

Donald Glover, known as Childish Gambino is looking to cash in against Glassnote.

The multitalented artist is suing his former record label Glassnote Records over unpaid royalties. Pitchfork confirmed documents reflecting that a breach took place in a licensing agreement with Childish Gambino. At the moment it seems that Glover is looking to collect $10,000 from owed streaming royalties.

The lawsuit comes as a form of retaliation after Glassnote Records filed requesting a court-order arbiter handle the stalemate. In the complaint, it addresses an accusation that Childish Gambino claimed that he owned 95% of SoundExchange royalties when in fact the split is actually 50/45.

Glover released projects through Glassnote records from 2011 through 2016. Since then Gambino has signed with RCA.

LeBron & Savannah Celebrate The Number Five

    0

LeBron “King” James is the most influential person ever!

Regardless of how you feel about James on the athlete level, he is a true example of what a man is.

Late last year LeBron James announced that would help to send underprivileged students off to College. In addition, earlier this year LeBron officially opened up the “I Promise” school. The school received high praise as it provides students with tuition-free education, bus rides, bikes, and plenty more. James has been instrumental when it comes to developing his community and surrounding areas abroad.

LeBron once again made his name in the papers when he took perhaps the biggest leap regarding his career yet. After being on the end of a devasting sweep, The King had a major decision to make. In the end, James packed his bags and left the Eastern conference for Los Angeles. LeBron officially has joined the Lakers in hopes of being a top contender for a shot at the NBA trophy for the 2018-2019 season. While many are skeptical,  if anyone can defy the odds it’s the man that has attended the NBA final consecutively for the last 7 years.

Last night was a big night as LeBron and his wife Savannah James celebrated their fifth anniversary. Several outlets reported that King James called in a favor to the talented voice of Daniel Caesar for a private performance in their residence.  Savannah had plenty to say regarding the magical night: “He treats me with so much respect — I mean, it’s hard to not love him, with the way that he is with me and the kids and his mom and just everyone who’s around him. He’s a really, really humble guy for everything that he has and everything that he’s done.”

The couple celebrate five years of marriage. However, they have been together since high school. We congratulate The James family on another anniversary and wish them many more!
