BMW associated with Tupac’s assassination is listed for sale at £1.4 million

A piece of rap history is up for grabs as the BMW in which Tupac Shakur was fatally shot is listed for sale at a staggering £1.4 million. The black 1996 BMW 750iL still bears the bullet holes from the infamous drive-by shooting. Celebrity Cars, a Las Vegas-based dealership, is offering the car. They specialize in rare and exotic vehicles.

The car was originally leased by Death Row Records, the label that signed Tupac in 1995. Late on September 7, 1996, Tupac and Death Row boss MarionSuge” Knight were in the BMW, cruising around. They had just attended a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM Grand. They stopped at a red light on Las Vegas Boulevard. A white Cadillac pulled up next to them and opened fire, hitting Tupac four times and grazing Knight’s head. Tupac died six days later at the age of 25, while Knight survived his injuries.

The murder remains unsolved, but several theories and suspects have been proposed over the years. One of them is Keefe D, a self-confessed gangster and former member of the Crips. He claimed in a 2008 police interview that he was in the Cadillac that night and witnessed his nephew Orlando Anderson pull the trigger. Keefe D’s real name is Duane Davis. He said he was offered an immunity deal in exchange for his confession. But, the deal was later revoked due to a legal technicality. He is now facing the possibility of being prosecuted based on his own admission. The Clark County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case.

Keefe D, who is 60 years old and suffers from cancer, has denied any involvement in Tupac’s death and said he lied in the interview for “fame and fortune”. He’s currently in jail at the Clark County Detention Center for different charges. According to his lawyer, he is expected to be released soon.

The BMW that witnessed the tragic event has changed hands several times since Tupac’s death. It has undergone a full restoration. According to the listing, the car has just over 120,000 miles on the odometer and has received a new coat of paint. However, the bullet holes are still visible on the passenger side door, where Tupac was sitting. The listing also states that the new owner will receive documentation proving the car’s ownership and history. They will also get a signed confidentiality agreement.

The car is on display at Celebrity Cars’ showroom. It is available for sale to anyone who can afford the hefty price tag. The dealership describes the car as “a piece of American history.” They say it is the first time it has ever been up for sale or on display since Tupac’s death. The listing adds: “This is a very rare opportunity to own one of the most notable cars in existence.”
