Yella Beezy, whose stage name is Markies Conway, has been charged with capital murder in relation to the 2020 shooting of rapper Mo3 on a highway, court documents say. Conway is accused by prosecutors of orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot and hiring Kewon White to kill Mo3. This latest arrest is a milestone in a case that has made waves in the music world and across the country.
Yella Beezy was taken into custody following a grand jury indictment in Dallas County that charged him with paying Kewon White to kill Mo3. Conway allegedly offered White money to do it. The indictment is a milestone in the investigation into Mo3’s death.
Mo3 was on Interstate 35E in Dallas on November 11, 2020. He was ambushed by a shooter. He attempted to escape on foot before he was shot several times and killed. It was in broad daylight and left the community in widespread shock. An innocent bystander was struck by gunfire while it was happening.
Kewon Dontrell White was arrested in December 2020 in connection with Mo3’s murder. White was initially charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon but was subsequently sentenced to nine years in prison for the charges related to the case. Investigators believe White was the masked gunman who actually pulled the trigger, purportedly at the request of Yella Beezy.

Yella Beezy, whose claim to fame is his hit single “That’s On Me,” has had several run-ins with the law in the past, 2021 he was charged with sexual assault, endangerment of a child and unlawful firearm possession. Those charges, however, were dropped in June of 2022. This latest arrest for capital murder is by far the most severe accusation he has ever faced and could result in life in prison or even the death penalty upon conviction.
Fans and other artists took to social media to post about what they thought. Some stood with Yella Beezy, while others thought justice was finally served for Mo3’s untimely death.
