Broccoli City has grown to become the face of the festival culture.
To create a successful platform based on building and thriving urban communities by incorporating music culture is their mission.
Since 2012, they’ve seen significant growth in festival attendees. This year’s experience is sure to continue the upward mobility. They’ve recently announced the expansion of its programming to include three full days. Specifically, there will be events leading up to the annual festival!
Specifically, from April 25th through 27th, attendees will enjoy a complete schedule of panels, exhibits, networking opportunities, fitness programming, and performances. The goal? It’s simple. To celebrate music, culture, art, and volunteerism to promote overall wellness and education in the urban community of DC.
BroccoliCon will also be returning to the festival weekend for the 3rd year in a row! It will feature over 750 leaders who will gather to focus intently on leveraging resources and relationships to address the greatest challenges facing urban communities.
But, what’s new?
A new addition to the 3-day weekend will be the all-night block party that will take place on Friday. Hosted by B. Simone, the block party will include a full night of live performances, unique activations, strategically curated food vendors and live art installations on the festival grounds from 7pm-11pm.
Lastly, the annual 5K Run + Fitness Festival will return to the weekend lineup, as well. This year’s event will be held Saturday, April 27,2019 at 8 am. Attendees of all ages will participate in a 5K Run/Walk. This will be followed by group workout classes, fitness demos, giveaways, and delicious bites from participating sponsors.
Last year’s star-studded concert line up included acts like Cardi B, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Nipsey Hussle, Miguel, Migos, Rich Tha Kid, and others–bringing out a crowd of over 35,000 beautiful African-American fans. This year, they’ll headline Childish Gambino, Lil Wayne, 6lack, Ella Mai, Lil Baby, Gunna, City Girls, Teyana Taylor, YBN Cordae, and more.
