Camila Cabello Comments on Drake and Kendrick Lamar Drama

Camila Cabello, the pop star behind such smash hits as “I Luv It,” has finally come forward on the ongoing drama between rap giants Drake and Kendrick Lamar. In an interview with the Sunday Times, she opened up about her brand-new album, “C, XOXO,” while speaking briefly on the contentious feud shaking the hip-hop world.

She said her frustration was with the public fight between Drake and Kendrick Lamar—Cabello collaborated with Drake on two tracks for her album “C, XOXO.” On saying something about the highly publicized spat between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, she said,

“It’s just sad to see them going at each other like this.” She continued, “They’re both amazing artists, and it’s disappointing to see them taking jabs in their music and online.”

The singer had a straightforward solution to offer—a private dinner. “They should just sit down and have dinner, talk it out over a meal,” Cabello suggested before the camera. “One good conversation could solve so much misunderstanding. Invest rather in their relationship than going on air with this negativity.”

Cabello took a timeout to give props to Drake: “He’s a delight.” She went on to express disappointment about the public eye on the rapper.

“Drake is such a sweet and sensitive soul,” she said. “It’s unfortunate that this feud is shadowing his persona.”

She’s had the opportunity to work on several collaborations that she’s enjoyed, particularly with Drake on “C, XOXO.” “Working with him was so nice,” she said. “He’s such a talented guy and is a blast to be around.”

For quite several years, Drake and Kendrick Lamar have not been on the best terms. The urge to be crowned as the number-one rapper led them to create diss tracks in songs subtly. Well into 2013, very early into the movement, was Kendrick’s verse on “Control,” scolding many rappers, Drake included. Then it was Drake coming at him with tracks like “Duppy Freestyle” in 2018.

The rivalry reached a new height when Lamar performed “Not Like Us” five times during his “Ken & Friends” concert at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on June 19. If fans aren’t already on the lookout for its music video, recorded in Compton—Lamar’s hometown—the song certainly leaves them keen.

Despite all their differences, the two have worked on songs like “Poetic Justice” and “F**kin’ Problems,” adding more depth to this tangled relationship. Most importantly, Kendrick’s answer so far, directly answering his speculated beef enemy, has kept fans searching for answers.

For Cabello, the comments are not solely about a feud; they are part of her journey through the music industry. She mentioned dealing with so many thoughts of negativity and bullying: “I’ve faced my share of negativity and bullying.” This speaks to how much one should rise above it and support it.

Her suggestion that Drake and Kendrick resolve their differences in private has resonated with so many of the fans. “We need more unity and less drama,” she concluded.

In December, Cabello and Drake were spotted together in Turks and Caicos. People’s minds quickly ran to a love relationship, but the star clarified that theirs was a “friends trip” and shared that their time there was about sharing music. “We’re just homies,” she said, ending the speculation.

Cabello provides insight into the fight and her call for a more personal approach to conflict resolution. This displays her maturity and understanding of the industry. It is great that she hopes for her colleagues to reconcile and move forward in a positive way—an uplifting reminder.
