Chappell Roan is a young, emerging pop artist who has been talking about her journey and the community she found with other females in the industry. Recently, in one of her videos, she shared that all of the “pop girls” that have been beloved throughout the years reached out to support her; she particularly emphasizes sisterhood and rising by lifting each other among female pop artists.
Chappell Roan reflects on her life in new video:
“the pop girls that you and I have loved our whole lives or like have been f*cking stans of in the past two or three years, a lot of them have reached out and are like so supportive and girls’ girls.” PIC.TWITTER.COM/JXL7MHJP7R

It was thus not all easy ways to stardom for her. Having been released by Atlantic Records in 2020, Roan shifted back to Missouri and nearly quit music. She later relocated to Los Angeles, picking up odd jobs before she could return to music. It was through working with producer Dan Nigro that she released the song “Pink Pony Club,” really a defining moment for her coming into her queer identity and love of drag culture.
Roan’s music has connected with her swelling fanbase partly because of her candid, engaging presence on TikTok.
Despite the platform’s challenges and, quite often, toll on one’s mental health, Roan has used it to show off her personality and engage her fans. Her debut album feasts on the energetic celebratory nature of her live shows, lately featuring a lot of drag queens as openers with which she looked forward to really celebrate and support the local queer community. Her latest single, “Good Luck, Babe,” is trending with love and finding self as a significant message. Roan says it’s an empowering pop anthem brought into creation by high emotions.
