American rapper and YouTuber DDG has brought the music industry to a standstill, charging a whopping $750,000 for a feature. So, any new artist who wanted DDG to drop a verse or chorus on their song would have to cough up this exorbitant fee.
DDG took to his Instagram Stories recently to reveal that his feature on a guest appearance doesn’t come cheap. “Just in case y’all were wondering my feature price,” he wrote, showing that he takes a staggering $750,000 for a song feature and a whopping $1,000,000 for a music video.

An artist’s feature price is always based on factors such as popularity, demand, and the value they bring to a track. DDG is on a successful music career ladder, having chart-topping hits like “Arguments” and “Moonwalking in Calabasas,” both of which gained over 1 billion streams. Combined with his fan base, such success rightfully warrants his steep price.
DDG charges way more than the average artist’s asking price. In 2022, Lil Baby charged that level of $300,000, roughly for a guest verse. Future in 2022 was about $250,000. In 2021, 21 Savage also asked for figures in the six-digit range for a feature. These are the rates putting DDG in high-demand rare air.
DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., has been in the news lately for something different. He mistakenly used his natural voice in a conversation with fellow rapper Sexyy Red. He is famed for having a voice equal in tone and timbre to Barry White’s. DDG’s disclosure not only sent a shockwave through the helluva St. Louis rapper but also had him laughing and DDG making an admittance—“That’s why I don’t do that shit.”
In his 2022 vlog, DDG opened up by saying, “I just get real insecure; I don’t like to, like, expose myself like that. I like to stay low-key and just be who I am. … So I’ve been trying to like talk regular.” He added, “I feel like when I talk regular, it’s like I’m more relatable to y’all.
DDG started his YouTube page in 2014, following his high school years. After high school, he diversified by doing vlogs and eventually dropping out of Central Michigan University to pursue YouTube full-time. His success finally came when, in 2018, he signed a deal with Epic Records and cofounded his label, Zooted Music, two years later.
DDG is the author of the single “Moonwalking in Calabasas” from 2020, which features Blueface. It became a Billboard Hot 100 hit and received double platinum status. In addition to music, he tried his hand at boxing, eventually winning against YouTuber Nate Wyatt in their event titled YouTubers vs. TikTokers in 2021. Smartly, he has built his whole fortune, pegged at over $8 million, with just over 11.7 million subscribers on his YouTube channels and 1.21 billion total views.
DDG has worked with the artists Blueface, YG, and 42 Dugg. In 2022, Forbes named him in their 30 Under 30 list, said to be stirring up the new music scene. It’s a strategy where he drops music based on quality, not quantity, thus making it possible for his songs to bloom wide and touch the fans’ hearts.
DDG‘s announcement of a $750,000 feature has the music world abuzz. It shows confidence in his art and his strategic career approach. The high value he gives to his contributions sets a new standard for DDG and further cements his importance as a player in the more incredible music world.
