Delta Airlines is receiving an invitation to all the cookouts this summer.
Just announced, the Atlanta-based airline company has partnered with Brown Estate. Brown Estate is a black-owned winery in Napa Valley, California, and the first black-owned winery Napa Valley has ever hosted. The idea was first suggested by Carlyne Scott. Scott believed it was a great way to integrate Black History Month and traveling, but had no clue that the idea would blossom into something bigger.
Rather than only serving the wine on domestic flights for the month of February, Brown Estate’s wine will be served on Delta’s 2019–2020 winter wine menu. Only select domestic flights will have the menu selection, and passengers must be sitting in business class. Further more, starting Tuesday, a complimentary in-flight wine tasting will take place for Flight 1473, traveling from San Francisco to New York.
In a statement, Brown Estates expresses their enthusiasm to partner with Delta Airlines.
“We are delighted to partner with Delta Air Lines.”
“Delta’s all-in commitments the spirit of inclusion and to their wine program are perfectly aligned with our core values at Brown Estate.”
Moving forward there will be two selections of wine to choose from while traveling. Brown Estate has selected to serve it’s 2017 Betelgeuse Sauvignon Blanc and its 2017 Chaos Theory.
